Number 1: Jack Jack wrote "Happy Birthday Mommy" on a card all by himself. The child has never so much as shown an interest in writing his own name. And it's completely legible. And now front and center on the fridge.
Number 2: This conversation while I was working on the computer, Ellen was coloring a birthday hat, and Jack Jack was helping Daddy make a birthday cake for me:
Daddy: Just a second. It's for Mommy. How much do you like Mommy?
Jack Jack: I . . . like . . . her . . . for . . . twenty . . . seconds! (Jack Jack speaks slowly, especially if he's thinking really hard.)
Ellen: Mommy, I like you for twenty-five seconds!
Daddy: You're supposed to say, "I like you forever."
Priceless. Thank you for the cards, calls, notes, and good wishes.
