We miss you, Matthew!

When I asked Matthew a few weeks ago if he needed any help getting ready for college, he said, "Well, I am a little worried about my t-shirt quilt."

Matthew helped with all stages of this project, from choosing, cutting, and placing the t-shirts, to choosing the batting and back. The only thing he didn't do was sew, but he did spend a lot of time playing with my kids.

I love this cool globe print on the back.

Matthew was two years old when I graduated high school and left home for college. He couldn't even talk, and I was worried he wouldn't know who I was when I came home to visit. I distinctly remember telling my mom to show him my picture and tell him my name every day.

That was 16 years ago. We've both come a long way. Matthew can say my name. He just graduated from high school. And I am sure glad I was able to work on this project for him to help him get ready for college.

Thanks to Mary and Rebecca for your help and letting me impose on you considerably. And thank you, Sarah for being understanding about your quilt. It is not just a myth, I promise.

Lorraine--thanks for the blog comment, and we would love to see you guys while you're in Lubbock. Next week, right? We're going to try to make it to the potluck that Regan is doing for you Friday evening...what else is on your calendar?
