Flashback

Elijah, the night before surgery, babbling, playing, spitting, singing, blowing bubbles.

Elijah, the morning of surgery, smiling, laughing, babbling, cooing.

All of the doctors and nurses have commented on the roundness and chubbiness of his face, the length of his eyelashes, the beauty of his eyes, and his overall cuteness in general.

Now they're finding out that he's serious about two things: eating and kicking. As long as he gets to eat, he's fine. Withhold milk, and he starts in on some full body kicks that have his entire body moving around the crib. He "kicked out" the two IVs in his feet, meaning he kicked his legs so much that the IVs started leaking and were no longer usable, so the nurses took them out.

He had a good night last night. He's on minimal O2, a heart medication, and pain medication as needed. The drainage tube in his chest is gone, and they're removing the art line this morning. He'll be happy to get his hand back. He gets to have three ounces of milk every three hours, which, over 24 hours, just about equals what he was getting at home.

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts.

Way to go my sweet Elijah...I love you. You continue to show them what you are made of. I know that each day you become stronger, show them what you are made of Jackson and Stark's strong blood line and fighter's......Love Nana
