Fieldtrip: Mayborn Planetarium

At the end of May we furthered our knowledge of Earth, planets, and outer space by taking a trip to the Mayborn Planetarium in Killeen.

Having fun finding out how much we weigh on the moon and Mars

Experiencing the (scary) wind tunnel. The kids were horrified by this.

Waiting for the movie to begin in the round theater. Love how Alex is the only one looking seriously into it.

After nine months of regular meetings for Spanish, handwriting, and science, Elijah decided that it was okay for him to sit on Leigh's lap. Even while I was right there in front of him. He actually seems pretty happy about it.

This is why Elijah couldn't sit on my lap. Someone was  freaking out moments before.

Fun field trip! My kids still use phrases like "gas giant," "rocky planet," Jupiter's red spot," and "Earth's crust" on a regular basis, usually to ask me things that I have no idea how to answer. Then they tell me that we should ask Leigh the next time we see her, because she probably knows.

Sounds fun. If you ever want to go to the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science/Children's Museum, or the new Perot Museum when it opens in January, let me know. We have a membership and can get guests in for free.

Fun pictures! We miss y'all! And please always give me a heads up on any questions that might be coming my way so I can look up the answers beforehand. ;)
